Burroghs, the ultimate bad ass prepster?

Blazer? Check. Cable Cardigan? Check. Trust Fund? check. Harvard Degree? Check. ^^^^^ Hmmmmmm

So I was in my old beach community that I went to HS at reading Vanity Fair whwn I came across their article about being preppy … then I look at my penny loafers, L.L. bean tote bag and begin to wonder, God forbid, am I? No!

Sure I’m wearing a brown belt but it has studs, black and white striped shirt is punk, skinny moto jean leggings and shouldered blazer … I always thought I was borderline MOD but but maybe I was wrong, damn it, I may be more preppy than I ever dared to think! Sure I still rock it, hard, but living in a preppy old money community for most of your life is going to have do some damage.

I discussed the “signs” this with my band mate from Maine, aka prepster usa, and he changed my perspective. Burroughs was preppy! He was a trust fund kid who went to Harvard. Don’t even get me started on Bret Easton Ellis. And what about KimGordon and Thruston Moore who live in Connecticut, Chloe Sevigny is from Conneticut and I’ve never denied my love for jailbird Martha Stewart. All pretty bad ass peeps … borderline preppy if not out right. So if I’m a gingham, blazer, wearing, vodka tonic at noon swilling prepster than damn it I don’t give a damn. I still wear my leather under my beige trench coat, or my leather jacket over mydress. In reality I dress more like Kate Lanphear and even though she is an aussie she still did time at Princeton and knows how to rock her tweed jacket like nobody’s business.

After much debate i came to the realization, smorting a bit of prep now and then is better than sporting Ed Hardy and whatever horrible else any day of the year.

I’m just keeping it real and old school.
